Scabies

Scabies is a skin infection that is triggered due to an allergic reaction with mites. The mites known as sarcoptes, infest themselves in the skin. The appearance of this skin infection will make itself known as a red bump, blisters, or combination of both. These bumps and blister cause very intense itching. If you scratch them, then just as in shingles, it will cause cuts, further irritations, and bacteria. The mites that cause this skin infection can easily be picked up through skin contact of someone that has the infection, and the sharing of towels, sheets, and other items. Therefore, it is important to wash all sheets and towels, etc., in very hot water with a detergent to kill the possibility of transmitting the problem. Symptomatology

With this skin infection type, you may have the following:

Intense itching as mentioned above

Little blisters and red bumps that are coming up in places like underarms, the breast area, between fingers, and your groin area.

Skin that is all scaled, hard and crusty will show in some cases that are really bad.

Treatment

To get rid of this skin problem, you'll need to destroy the mites as well as the eggs from those mites where they are being hatched. A skin doctor can give you good tips on this, (dermatologist).

Once the doctor has closely looked at your skin, he or she will prescribe special skin oinments, lotions and also creams with special ingredients to kill the infectious problem. You'll need to follow the doctor's advice very closely to get rid of it.

Clean the house thoroughly since this is a big culprit of where the mites may reside. This means dusting completely the furniture, and washing all beddings and personal articles that I mentioned earlier.

Since this skin condition is highly contagious, all members need to be treated for it if they show any signs. Otherwise, there will be reinfection over and over.
