Ovarian Cancer

Ovarian cancer has often been referred to as the cancer with no symptoms. If this type of female problem is in the very earliest stages, it often does not display any cause for concern. But with this cancer type as it grows, there will definitely be the following signs that are present:

Bloating and feeling full quickly after eating

Urge to urinate often

Gas and diarrhea may be present.

Pressure in the abdominal area

The best way to find out if you have this female problem is to see your doctor as soon as possible. A pelvic exam, along with feeling around the abdomen will give the doctor an idea of what could be happening.

The definitive way of diagnosis is through a pap smear to check for cancerous cells there, and also a blood test searching for something called CA-125. This is a substance that is usually found on top of cells that are cancerous.

An ultrasound sometimes will pick up on an ovarian tumor. It also finds cysts that are in clusters on the ovary. This may be PCOS, which is not ovarian cancer. See this article on my other site. A biopsy is usually typical to find out what is involved in this problem. The doctors will take a piece of tissue or fluid to look for cancer cells. Based on results from all of these sources, a diagnosis will be made.

With this unfortunate medical condition in women, these cancerous cells can spread. When old cells do not dies as they should, a tumor will begin to form. This creates an environment for trouble in the female reproductive system.

Below is a video of a doctor explaining this disease in more details.

Cervical cancer is another serious women's problem.
