My Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia does effect my everyday life. I have some days that are better than others, even days in which I do not hurt at all. I have noticed that if I am able to get a hot shower in the morning that the pain does not start right away, or that it will not be as bad. In addition I have started doing acupuncture, that seems to have been the best thing so far. In addition to weekly acupuncture I get a deep tissue massage every other week. I am currently not taking any medications for fibromyalgia because I did not like the way it made me feel, I always felt disconnected from life. I am taking anti depressants, as you are aware fibromyalgia can lead to being depressed, while it does not help with my pain it does help with my mood and helps me to be more positive. As for exercise, I have had mixed results. I do walk five miles a day, there are some days in which this is much harder to do as my trigger points are mostly in my legs, but I have to do something in order to get some form of exercise. I am no longer working and stay at home with my children, this helps as well. I do not have the stress of sitting and or standing all day long. If I get uncomfortable or start to hurt I can easily change positions, or move around in order to lessen the pain. I take life one day at a time, and one challenge at a time. If I am having a bad day and need a break a hot bath always helps to get me in a better frame of mind and helps to deal with the pain. Life is full of ups and downs and with obsticals and burdens, this just happens to be mine.
