Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a series of bodily symptoms ranging from burning sensations, muscles pains, and just a feeling of achiness all over the body. Females are more prone to this then men. In fact, I haven't really heard of a man with it as of yet.

This complex disorder of musculoskelatal pain that is widespread, is very difficult to treat. The pain of fibromyalgia has no boundary to it.

Part of the symptomatology is muscle twitches and burning sensations all over. It is almost like having a chronic viral condition or the flu constantly.

The pains are usually worse at one time of the day then another. It is usually worse in the morning time, then other times of the day. The pain may be worse in muscle groups that you use all the time, like arms and legs for instance.

Something else that fibromyalgia does is to make a person feel drained of energy, and having an all-over fatigue. Along with this generalized fatigue, is slower brain power. I've known of people that had trouble thinking and focusing on anything that requires any type of concentration or skill, like driving a car.

Sleep disorders are common in this disabling syndrome illness as well. The type of sleeping problem reported has been something called aplha-EEG anomaly. In other words, getting to sleep isn't really too bad, but there is much interrupted sleeping patterns when the brain wants to awaken. Another problem related to sleep is sleep apnea. Another troublesome part of this complex syndrome is the symptoms that appear adbominally. There is often constipation problems, or just the opposite diarrhea. You may have a lot of nausea and gas pain as well.

It also tells of how to relieve this problem with antacids. Migraine headaches are another struggle for fibromyalgia persons. This is true in about 80% of cases. These headaches are often problematic for people and therefore making coping even more difficult with this disorder.

TMJ or TMD is a jaw related painful disorder which is also seen in people. This causes problems with eating anything crunchy or that requires any amount of chewing. This has degrees of pain depending on how bad the muscles are in the jaw itself.

PMS, a feeling of numbness and tingling, eyes that are dry as well as the mouth can happen very frequently. People that have this disorder are very sensitive to anything and everything. A lot of things get on the nerves, and a lot of quiet time is needed away from commotions in daily living if at all possible.

When the seasons change, and likewise temperatures change, this commonly brings on many more flare-ups, as well as stress and infections of many types.
