Fibromyalgia Changes Constantly With Me

Well basically the daily changes is that there are practically daily changes! It's as if (seemingly) if not everyday, every week there are differing symptoms or if not symptoms, the severity changes. The hardest part for me is trying to plan to do something of significance in advance. Some of the things I used to do prior to fibro now seem almost out of reach. For instance, planning a trip or scheduling a work assignment or meeting. I used to do this months in advance with no worries about cancellation. Now I wonder if I'll be able to follow through and if so, what challenges will I be facing physically. Telling people about my disease is a double edged sword because in some cases people don't understand, all they hear is that you might be a flake or that their needs won't be met. So I am careful about disclosure. Close friends know. Family knows. Some business contacts know but only those who I trust. I am proactive about my health now. I get second opinions. I work with several doctors and an acupuncturist. My treatments now are probably 75% natural or wholistic, I am winding down on traditional drugs and traditional MD's because so often they don't listen, they don't have time, they just want to throw drugs to treat your symptoms but not help the underlying body heal. The most important thing I can do is try and positively deal with my disease but try not to either dwell on it or let it take too much control of my life. And needless to say, this is a terrifically challenging balancing act!
