A Condition Resembling COPD

The medical problem I have is chronic coughing. This began twelve years ago when I was diagnosed and treated for a lung infection called micobacterium avium infection, or MAI. The treatment involved a two-year course of antibiotics, both oral and intravenous. The MAI was successfully treated, however I continue to have residual chest congestion, and a "productive" cough. The sputum, when tested, usually contains "staph" infection. An antibiotic can clear it up for a while and then it returns. I am trying a home remedy consisting of a vegan diet and liver cleansing, which I have been doing for about 9 months. My doctor said the remedy was moderated enough to do no harm, but was not likely to succeed. I feel that my liver is cleaning my blood and lymph fluids, and they are cleaning up the mess in my lungs. It is taking a long time, but my congestion and coughing have decreased some, and I am hopeful that further improvements will occur over the next six months or so.
